The maker of liquor brands like Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Ciroc, Baileys, Don Julio, Tanqueray and Guinness is now entering the pre-mixed category launching its leading vodka premix brand 'Smirnoff Ice'.



While the company has 10 different flavours under this brand, it will only launch two flavours in India i.e. Smirnoff Ice Original and Smirnoff Ice Black. The pre-mixed drink will be available in Goa and Karnataka to start with and, will gradually be made sold across all markets in the country.

Speaking to dna, Bhavesh Somaya, marketing and innovation director, Diageo India, said, the brand will revolutionise a unique occasion / space with its convenient premixed format. "We are tapping into a new occasion and looking to drive recruitment of consumers, over the legal drinking age, with Smirnoff Ice.


"With increasing appeal of vodka amongst new gen consumers as a perfect drink for pre-party occasions where convenience and variety are key prerogatives, and mixing drinks can be a hassle. We are confident that the new offering will be great gap filler for the growing demand today," said Somaya adding that the product's attractive packaging and refreshing taste will resonate well with consumers looking for exciting convenient options.

While Smirnoff Ice Black has a strong, sharp intense taste with an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 7% for a 275 ml bottle, Smirnoff Ice Original is a lighter lemon flavoured taste with an ABV of 5% for a 275 ml bottle. Though Smirnoff Ice Original and Smirnoff Ice Black are priced at Rs 80 and Rs 75 respectively in Goa, in Karnataka both the drinks will be sold at Rs 110 for a bottle.""Brewing green Tata Tea, India's leading tea brand from the house of Tata Global Beverages, has introduced a new variant in the green tea category thus aligning health and festivity this season.
