Greater Lehigh Valley businesses nominated for ImPAct Awards

The 2015 ImPAct awards celebrate companies that have had a substantial impact on Pennsylvania and have contributed to job creation and retention.

Among this year’s honorees was Orbel Corp. of Easton, a company that manufacturers EMI/RFI shielding technology. It was recognized as a small business with a large community impact.

“We are thrilled to be honored with the recognition that our technologies are contributing to Pennsylvania through job creation and job retention,” said Ken Marino, Orbel president. “Orbel is very proud of creating a ‘built to last’ culture that has helped contribute to the economic viability of the Lehigh Valley.”

Dozens of businesses were nominated in five categories.

Community Impact Award finalists from the Greater Lehigh Valley are:

• PPL Corp. of Allentown.

• Just Born Inc. of Bethlehem.

• Victaulic of Easton.

This award is given to a company that exemplifies the tenet of “doing well by doing good.” The winners in this category show a sustained commitment to the growth and development of their employees and the community in which they do business.

Entrepreneur Impact Award finalists from the Greater Lehigh Valley are:

• EcoTech Marine LLC of Hanover Township, Lehigh County.

• BioMed Sciences Inc. of Upper Macungie Township.

• Custom Processing Services Inc. of Reading.

• CyOptics Inc. of Breinigsville.

• Chestnut Grove Resorts of Swiftwater.

This award is given to an entrepreneur who has led his or her company to a position of strength in the marketplace by way of growth in one or all of the following areas: creativity, innovation, managerial ability, leadership skills and turnaround.

Export Impact Award finalists from the Greater Lehigh Valley are:

• Apprise Software of Bethlehem.

• C.F. Martin & Co. of Upper Nazareth Township.

• Dynalene Heat Transfer Fluids of Whitehall.

• Architectural Polymers/AP Thermoforming/Thin Brick Specialties of Palmerton.

• MegaPhase of Stroudsburg.

• Radius Toothbrush of Kutztown.

This award is given to a company that has significantly increased its export sales and the number of new foreign markets it sells to since 2011.

Jobs that Pay Award finalists from the Greater Lehigh Valley are:

• Bethlehem Shared Services Center of Bethlehem.

• Follett Corp. of Easton.

• Nestle Purina Petcare Co. of South Whitehall Township.

• Dunkelberger’s Sports Outfitter of Stroudsburg.

• Solar Innovations of Pine Grove.

This award is given to a company that has demonstrated consistent job growth and retention over the past two years. The company must have had a positive net gain in new jobs during this time period.

Small Business Impact Award finalists from the Greater Lehigh Valley are:

• Fragrance Manufacturing Inc. of Allentown.

• ProtoCAM of Upper Macungie Township.

• Altitude Marketing of Emmaus.

• Orbel Corp. of Easton.

• Suburban Testing Laboratories of Bern Township.

This award is given to a small business with fewer than 100 employees that has been an innovator in its industry, demonstrated revenue and profit growth, increased its workforce and committed to the growth and development of its employees and community.
