Cedar Management Consulting acquires the business of IBS Publishing, UK

MUMBAI: Cedar Management Consulting International, a US-headquartered global consulting, advisory and analytics firm acquired IBS publishing, a UK based financial technology research, publication and consulting firm.

“IBS has a strong research platform and it is important that consulting firms globally have strong research platform. Research and consulting go hand in hand, both exchange knowledge, there are cross-selling opportunities, research clients would like to buy custom services and vice-versa. From business point of view, it gives you some kind of annuity because consulting income is up and down and project based,” said Sanjiv Anand, its chairman.

According to a statement, 'The acquisition adds a new dimension to the business of Cedar and equips them with knowledge on global trends in banking technology, and how Indian banks could benefit from it'.

The Management Consulting firm has helped clients in bank transformation, mergers, and banking technology transformation. Some of the company’s clients included Ratnakar Bank (RBL), American Express, IIFL, NCDEX amongst others.

IBS publishing has provided consulting services to over 80 global clients including leading multinational and regional banks, PE firms, investment banks, consulting firms and technology solution providers. Its global consulting clientele includes Barclays Capital, Citigroup, Close Brothers, Deutsche Bank, ING Bank, Lloyds TSB, Misys, Oracle, Polaris, Rabo Bank, Sungard among others, added the statement .
