MBABANE – Sihlangu’s African Nations Cup (AFCON) qualifier opponents, Guinea boasts of over 20 internationals, with most plying their trades in France.

About 10 of them play in France, while the rest play in countries like Denmark, Belgium and Portugal.
Sihlangu on the other hand do not have a single international player.

Guinea have called up a 28-member tentative squad for the game against Sihlangu, which is scheduled for June 12 in Morocco, Casablanca. This will be a neutral venue, as Guinea have forfeited their home ground advantage after the World Health Organisation (WHO) banned them from hosting international games until that country is cleared of the deadly Ebola virus.

Attack

Leading the Guinea attack will be France’s Olympique Lyon’ marksman Yattara Mohamed Lamine, alongside Belgium’s, Anderlecht RSC midfielder Conte Ibrahima Sory.

Sihlangu’s opponents have also called up four goalkeepers with two of them playing international football in France.  The duo is Yattara Naby of AC Arles and Kone Adama of Le Sec. The two other goalkeepers, in Toure Youddouf and Conde Nouhan are locally based.

Also likely to face Sihlangu is Portugal-based midfielder Fofana Boubaca and Turkey-based Landel Guy Michel.
Also worth noting is that of the seven strikers called up for the game against Sihlangu, none is locally based.
All of them are based in overseas countries.

Sihlangu are fresh from the ongoing regional COSAFA Cup where the squad narrowly lost out on qualification for the quarter-finals after an inferior goal for compared to the eventual Group B winners Madagascar.
The squad’s head coach, Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga, said the week they would spend in camp would give the technical bench direction on whether the current squad would be beefed up or not.
