Focusing on a transformative flooring experience at NeoCon 2015, Mohawk Group — the commercial flooring division of Mohawk Industries — showcased an award–winning and comprehensive collection of flooring products centered on the concept Floors That Move You, a new perspective on flooring.
The company’s experiential showroom packed in architects and interior designers from around the globe. This year, Mohawk Group captured a total of 10 awards in recognition of its design leadership and distinguished associates. Held annually in Chicago, NeoCon is North America’s largest design exposition and conference for commercial interiors.
Officials said, "Mohawk Group’s collection Moving Floors was honored with Contract Magazine's Best of NeoCon Gold in the Modular Carpet, as well as Best of NeoCon Editors’ Choice. Designed in collaboration with Innocad’s 13&9 Design, Moving Floors is an inventive interpretation of nature, landscapes and texture as it explores the fourth dimension. Engaging the imagination of NeoCon attendees, this revolutionary collection is a flooring system with varying patterns that are designed to be dynamically moving based on the user’s changing point of view.
Moving Floors also received Metropolis magazine’s Metropolis Likes award, selected by editors for emerging trends during the show. Another Contract magazine Best of NeoCon winner was Lakir by Durkan, the company’s hospitality brand, which received Best of NeoCon Silver Award for Broadloom Carpet.
Additionally, the company took the spotlight at Interior Design Magazine’s annual HIP Awards at NeoCon 2015 with three big wins and two honoree recognitions. Interior Design, an industry-leading media brand for design professionals worldwide, celebrates individuals in the design industry as well as product solutions in the Honoring Industry People (HIP) awards program. Mohawk Group captured the Hospitality Carpet product award for Lakir, a collection by the company’s hospitality brand Durkan. The company also won the HIP Workplace Hard Surface award for Mass Appeal, a new luxury vinyl tile collection launched this year. Finally, Mohawk Group’s Lester Gassert, based in New York City, received top prize for the HIP People Award in Sales Representative. The following Mohawk Group products also received accolades at the ceremony, which was held at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago earlier this month:
