DINWIDDIE, VA (WWBT) - Medics rushed two Ft. Lee soldiers to the hospital Thursday afternoon, after a military tactical vehicle overturned in Dinwiddie County.

An eight-wheel high performance defense truck veered off an on-ramp around 4:30 p.m., as the driver turned from Route 460 east to I-85 north.

First responders took the two soldiers to Southside Regional Hospital, where they are expected to recover. The soldiers were the only two people in the vehicle.

The truck is manufactured by Oshkosh Defense, a company that makes armored vehicles to support combat missions.

State Police crash investigation teams remained on the scene into Thursday evening, with teams also cleaning up a small diesel fuel spill.

Damage to the truck appeared to be minimal, after a military team attached cables and turned the vehicle onto its wheels.

The soldier's destination was not immediately known. Medics reported both had non-life threatening injuries at the crash scene.
