SAN FRANCISCO — Home furnishings retailers Williams-Sonoma and Wayfair have each named consumer products executives to their boards, the companies announced Wednesday.

Sabrina Simmons, executive vice president and chief financial officer of apparel giant Gap Inc., has been elected to the board of San Francisco-based Williams-Sonoma. She will serve on the audit and finance committees.

Simmons has been with Gap since 2001 and has held her current post since 2008.

Boston-based Wayfair, an online retailer of home furnishings and décor, has named Bob Gamgort, CEO of Pinnacle Foods and former North American president of Mars Inc., to its board.

Gamgort joined Pinnacle in 2009 and has guided the company through the acquisitions of Birds Eye Foods, Wish-Bone and Gardein, as well as its initial public offering of stock in 2013. At Mars, he led a nearly $10 billion portfolio of snack food, pet food, pet hospital, retail and main meal divisions. Earlier he was president of Major League Baseball Properties, the league’s business and marketing arm, and was with General Foods, which later merged with and became Kraft Foods.
