Shareholders of PPL Corp. common stock will see a quarterly dividend of nearly 4 cents per share, the energy company said Friday.
The PPL board declared a common stock dividend of 3.725 cents per share, payable Jan. 2 to shareowners of record as of Dec. 10, according to a company news release.
Allentown-based PPL sells electricity and natural gas to about 10 million customers in the U.S. and United Kingdom. The company has announced an agreement to spin off its competitive generation segment and combine it with the competitive generation business of Riverstone Holdings LLC to form Talen Energy Corp.
With 2013 revenues of $12 billion, PPL is one of the largest companies in the U.S. utility sector.
