'Quality cuddle time!' Ricki-Lee Coulter embraces fiancé Richard Harrison as she takes a break from Dancing With The Stars to take in  New Zealand's Lake Wakatipu

They have been together for more than five years but Ricki-Lee Coulter has hardly seen her fiancé for three months as she rehearses for Dancing With The Stars.

But the 28-year-old pop star stepped aside from her gruelling 12-hour rehearsals to perform in New Zealand's Queenstown on South Island and catch up with her doting beau this weekend.

Snuggling up beside him, the lofty Cant Touch It hitmaker took in the clean mountain air and ravishing views of glacial Lake Wakatipu as they caught up on lost time.

Posting the image to her Instagram, she wrote: 'Was nice to get in some quality cuddle time with Rich in Queenstown...I've barely seen him since Dancing With The Stars started.'

Swaddled against the cold in a voluminous scarf and woolly cardigan, Ricki, tipped to win the DWTS crown on Tuesday, was relaxed and carefree as the couple soaked up the mountain town.

They have been dating since 2009 and plan to tie the knot in a small ceremony in Europe with close friends and family next year.

'It will be small, somewhere in Europe, I haven't even chosen the designer for the dress yet,' Ricki told Daily Mail Australia.

'I love him so much, but I'm the worst girlfriend right now. I train 12 hours a day and I come home and flop and Richard scoops me off the sofa and puts me to bed,' she says.

'Then he wakes me up with in the morning coffee. I am so lucky to have him and can't wait to spend more time with him after Dancing With The Stars and for us to get married,' she added.

The singer is high on life at the moment as she continues to impress the dance judges and told DMA last week: 'Mum gave me my work ethic and drive today. My parents split when I was three months old.

'Life in the spotlight is great but it's also tough, you have to be resilient, you have to be determined, you need a thick skin to take knocks and get back up,' she said.

'My mother had to be all those things; she did four jobs to put shoes on my feet when I was going up, she was a model, a singer, a cleaner, she worked in a jewellery company to put a roof over our heads.'

Early next year, she and Richard will tie the knot before she tours with her new album Dance In The Rain, released last month.

The eldest of three children, Ricki-Lee says she and Richard agree they do not want children and that her experiences growing up have 'undoubtedly' shaped her views in adulthood.

'My not wanting children is simply the way I feel about it. It's for a number of reasons, I love them but just don't want them and Richard feels the same.

'I have a sister Jodie, who is 25, and a younger sister Emily, I love them both and I'm lucky to have them, I just don't want my own.'
