Increase Dedicated video RAM in windows 8.1

Right, forgot you're on a laptop.
You can try checking when you're running a game (just Alt-Tab).
Otherwise you could try some of the things mentioned in this topic to manually switch which GPU is being used: http

You don't want to permanently disable the Intel GPU on a laptop but temporarily disabling it may allow you to check how much dedicated VRAM and shared RAM it has.

The GPU should start using DDR RAM automatically when it runs out of GDDR VRAM. Using DDR with a GPU is much slower than using GDDR though.

It should, yes. The system will share normal RAM with the GPU when needed.
If you right-click the desktop and go to Screen Resolution, then Advanced Settings you should see a table stating the GPU's own VRAM (Dedicated Video Memory) and the maximum amount of normal RAM that the system will allow the GPU to use when necessary (Shared System Memory).

2.go to system properties (right click and properties)
3.go to remote settings
4.go to advance tab
5.go to settings under performance
6.go to advance tab
7.select change under virtual memory
8.uncheck the "atuomatically manage..."
9. enter desired ammount (see recommended)
