Buffalo Wild Wings Beats Earnings, Shares Pop Up

Buffalo Wild Wings BWLD reported third quarter 2014 financial results.

The company reported EPS of $1.14, beating EPS estimates of $1.07 per share by 6.5 percent. Revenues came in at $373.50 million, missing estimates by 0.07 percent.

Total revenue increased 18.3 percent year-over-year.

Same-store sales at company-owned restaurants increased 6 percent year-over-year; 5.7 percent at franchised restaurants.

Net earnings increased 21.7 percent year-over-year.

CEO Sally Smith stated, "Current costs for traditional chicken wings of $1.98 per pound are 30% higher than our third quarter average cost. Given this trend and known raises in certain minimum wage rates, we are increasing menu prices an average of 3.0% at the end of November."

Shares of Buffalo Wild Wings recently traded at $142, up 6.1 percent.
