Herbalife, a global nutrition company, recently held a region-wide activity to raise awareness on obesity and to encourage Asians to live a healthy, active lifestyle.
According to William M. Rahn, senior vice president and managing director of Herbalife in Asia Pacific, the event was held across 15 countries in Asia Pacific, including the Philippines. “With trends of rising obesity, an aging population and increasing health consciousness in this region, it is vital that people are made aware that good nutrition and active lifestyle habits can go a long way in helping them lead healthier and more fulfilling lives,” Rahn said.
In the Philippines over 1,000 people from Bonifacio Global City and Cagayan de Oro joined the community-based event. Participants were comprised of independent Herbalife members, together with their families and friends.
Attendees took part in a series of fun public participation activities, which include a 3 kilometer walk, followed by mass Zumba, a video on core workout session by Olympian Samantha Clayton, a group Herbalife SKIN Mint Clay Mask photo session; and other booth activities. Participants were also served with Herbalife’s Formula 1 Nutritional Shake, which they altogether raised for a toast to the day’s celebrations.
One of the highlights of the day is when Herbalife-sponsored team, The Philippine Dragon Rowing Team (PDRT) Fireblades, which had just arrived from a winning streak in Singapore, appeared during a meet-and-greet session with event participants.
“We had fun taking part in the activities of Herbalife Nutrition Day. We are here in support of the event and the company’s advocacy to bring awareness among Filipinos about nutrition, health and living an active lifestyle,” commented PDRT Fireblades Coach Manuel Maya.
The event ended on a high note, with everyone taking home the message that nutrition and an active lifestyle go hand in hand in comprising a well-balanced being.
