Brown Shoe Co. (BWS) Closed Challenging The Highs After Q3 Profit Beat

Brown Shoe Co. (BWS) reported third quarter EPS of $0.75 Tuesday morning, up from $0.63 last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.68. The company also increased its full year EPS forecast to between $1.65 and $1.69, from prior expectations of $1.50 to $1.60. Analysts are expecting EPS of $1.58.

Brown Shoe gapped open higher Tuesday morning, but traded in a range for the bulk of the session. The stock finished up by 2.80 at $31.28 on strong volume. Brown Shoe closed challenging the highs of the year, trading at a 3-month high.
