Leicester struck early and late in a dominant display that lifted them to within a single goal of safety with a 2-0 win over Swansea City on Saturday.

Leonardo Ulloa scored in the 15th minute and Andy King doubled the lead in the 90th minute, as Leicester is even with 17th place Hull on points and a single point behind Sunderland, with a match in hand on both (though that match is against Chelsea).

Swansea remains in eighth, a point ahead of victorious Stoke City.

Leicester went in front when Wes Morgan bodied a ball for Ulloa, who quickly hit a low and tidy shot past Fabianski to give Leicester its 1-0 lead.

And the Foxes has plenty of chances to add to their lead, with agonizing misses on either side of halftime. That includes a wheeling, low wide shot from Albrighton in the 48th minute.

Those chances kept coming, and surely even optimistic Foxes supporters had to be worried that the misses would continue to haunt them.

Leicester honestly could’ve netted three or four goals on either side of half, as the day did not belong to Garry Monk’s Swans. But as penalties failed to be awarded and shots continued to miss the mark, would Swans find an unlikely equalizer?

No. King provided a powerful lift to Leicester’s lead when he took advantage of a flubbed Fabianski save and plucked the rebound home.
