Pre-Game 3 sights and sounds: Houston’s rebounding, Warriors’ T-shirts, and a little bit more

HOUSTON–I’ve already written so much today that there’s almost zero need to post anything else before Game 3 here at the Toyota Center.

Here’s a video of some more pregame chatting by me and beat writer Diamond Leung, very impressively shot on smart phone by our Nhat Meyer, who’s main equipment is still (hopefully) en route thanks to Southwest Airlines.

Quick hits from the coaches’ pressers:

* Sure sounds like Houston coach Kevin McHale wants his big guys to attack the offensive glass a little bit–or a lot–more than they have in the first two games.

Josh Smith and Terrence Jones, the two Rockets power forward, have combined for only 14 rebounds in this series so far, 5 on the offensive side.

* A Warriors representative was passing out “Strength in Numbers” gold T-shirts to some of the many loud Warriors fans in the arena. I would imagine you’ll see some gold in the arena during the ESPN telecast.

* Steve Kerr said he put Harrison Barnes on James Harden for a few possessions in Game 2 just to mix things up vs. such a prolific scorer and said they might mix it up some more tonight.

Or they might not. Kerr is pretty secretive about this stuff before games and I do not blame him.

* McHale said he never tells a player not to shoot because it only makes things worse.

Josh Smith has taken the second-most FG attempts on the team in this series (33) and is shooting 33.3%.

* No, I didn’t watch Andre Iguodala’s pregame shooting warm-up. I’m sure he’ll be fine without me.
