Historic Miami Bar To Reopen On Cruise Ship

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami's oldest bar may be closing its doors in a few days but it will reopen on a cruise line.
On Wednesday, Norwegian Cruise Line announced the Tobacco Road will have a new home on one of their ships.
After 102 years in business, the bar will be closing its original location on October 25th.
Cruise officials said they have partnered with Tobacco Road to bring the most genuine experience of the bar on board Norwegian Escape . The ship will begin sailing from Miami to Caribbean destinations on November 14, 2015.
The bar's new home will incorporate elements of the original Tobacco Road location, including the iconic neon sign, memorabilia and photographs that will showcase the history of Miami through the lens of events and happenings at the bar over the past century.
The Tobacco Road bar on board the ship will also feature a selection of cocktails created by the bar's resident mixologist.
"We are thrilled to be able to preserve a piece of Miami's history and provide this famous Miami institution a home at sea on board the incredible new Norwegian Escape," said Kevin Sheehan, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.
