Quantum International Corp., an emerging robotics innovation company that hopes to set the stage for the next generation of material handling technology, says Apple is buying a 3D printing company.

Quantum International Corp., or QUAN, regularly puts out press releases saying it plans to support various Apple initiatives, encouraging investors to bank on these prospects.

The latest such prospect is Apple’s rumored acquisition of an unnamed 3D printing company, which would enable its customers to design various objects on their devices using software, then have the real thing 3D printed.

The report sounds sketchy (to say the least), but I’m sharing it with our readers for the purpose of discussion.

According to QUAN’s press release, “With Apple reportedly looking into acquiring a 3D printing company, Quantum International Corp. is well positioned for growth as it continues exploring the innovative three-dimensional printing technology for the manufacturing of its iPad case.”

Quantum has been promising innovative iDevice accessories for quite some time now, and it “believes it is primed for growth as the market for iPad accessories continues to expand rapidly.”

Quantum CEO Robert Federowicz is quoted as saying, “If Apple is considering 3D printing, we should be considering 3D printing. We have been watching the trend in 3D printing for a while and now it is becoming mainstream, with a prospect of becoming the next industrial revolution.”
