It isn’t going well.

So far, it’s raised £225 of its £65,000 target.

The British Monarchist Society was hoping they could organise a show to be held at the O2 Arena, but with the donation deadline set at 22 July, it doesn’t look likely.

Acts, the BMS said, would include Elaine Paige, Rick Wakeman, Patti Boulaye and S Club 7

‘It is unconscionable that no one person, organisation, or the government has given an thought to properly celebrating the most historic milestone in this nation’s history, let alone honouring Her Majesty for the life long service she has given the people of this world,’ Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills, the chairman of the BMS, told the Telegraph.

‘A proper show of appreciation is only appropriate.’

Queen Victoria. A colourful snapshot of Victorian times was disclosed for the first time by the National Archives. A library filer dated 01/01/1890 of Queen Victoria. A colourful snapshot of Victorian times was disclosed for the first time by the National Archives, Wednesday 18 May 2005. At the time of the 1861 census Queen Victoria was living at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight with Prince Albert and seven of their children, including the 19-year old future King Edward VII. The Census of 1861, available online, provides tantalising clues to the real lives and preoccupations of people from all walks of life. See PA story RECORDS Census. PRESS ASSOCIATION Photo. Another, more low-key event is also planned to mark the occasion. A message reading ‘For Queen and Country’ will be beamed onto the Tower of London at 12.01am on 10 September, when the Queen reaches the milestone.

The purpose of that message, however, is really to promote the charity Coming Home, which helps provide adapted homes for wounded service personnel.

If you do agree with Mr. Mace-Archer-Mills and think that paying for S Club 7 et al. to commemorate the occasion is ‘only appropriate’, then you can donate here.
