Stewart Title® has announced the 25th anniversary of Asset Preservation, Inc. (API), a 1031 qualified intermediary committed to providing exchange customers with unmatched service and the highest level of security when they need to trade one business or investment asset for another.
API started as a subsidiary of Placer Title Company in Northern California in September of 1990, during a time when there was very little 1031 exchange activity. Stewart acquired the company in 1993, and as a national provider of title insurance products and services, supported a national platform for API’s qualified intermediary services, financial backing and the institutional controls associated with a publically traded company.
“API has been a great asset for Stewart over the last couple of decades,” says Matt Morris, CEO of Stewart Information Services Corporation. “We’re honored to celebrate its 25 years of commitment to the1031 exchange industry and its customers, and we look forward to many more years to come.”
“I speak for API as a whole in saying a heartfelt thank you to all of our clients and partners, who have given us a chance to prove our dedication to serving them to the highest possible degree,” says Javier G. Vande Steeg, co-founder and president of API. “I love working with you on your transactions and showcasing our 25 years of experience and expertise.”
Since Stewart’s acquisition, API has expanded at a rapid pace with a presence today in most states around the country. The group has successfully facilitated more than 150,000 tax deferred exchanges and is a recognized national leader in the “Qualified Intermediary” industry.
