In October and November, Pacifica 4-H kids did lots of community service. Some of the community service projects that we did were setting up and scaring kids and adults at our “toxic swamp” room at the Community Center’s Spooktacular event, passing out pumpkins at the Linda Mar Rehabilitation Center, a winter coat drive where we collected and donated 27 coats, and a canned food drive where we donated 57 non-perishable food items to the Pacifica Resource Center. WHEW!! We were BUSY!!! To keep on going… In December, our club will be holding a toy drive as Janelle’s Elves. So, Janelle’s Elves was started by a Pacifica child, who is now a college student who will be graduating next year, to bring toys to children who are at Children’s Hospital in Oakland over the holidays. 4-H Club members will be bringing new toys to our December 3 general meeting, and Janelle’s mom will be there to accept the toys and deliver these to the hospital. (Janelle is away at college and may not be in town to make the delivery herself.) We would like to invite you to bring new toys to the 4-H’s December meeting and join in our toy drive as Janelle’s Elves! The meeting will be at the IBL Middle School library on December 3 at 7 p.m. Last but not least, we are going caroling at the Linda Mar Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, December 16.
