J-K govt swearing in LIVE: PDP-BJP govt a historic opportunity to fulfill aspirations of J-K, says Modi

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mufti Mohammad Sayeed sworn-in as Jammu and Kashmir chief minister on Sunday, bringing to an end the 49-day Governor's rule in the state.

PM Narendra Modi, BJP leaders LK Advani, MM Joshi, Amit Shah and PDP's Mehbooba Mufti present at swearing-in ceremony.

12:01 pm: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah congratulated Mufti Mohammed Sayeed on succeeding him as the head of the state government.

11:50 am: The swearing-in ceremony was boycotted by National Conference.

11:47 am: Separatist-turned politician Sajjad Lone takes oath as minister in Mufti Mohammad Sayeed government.

11:40 am: Abdul Rehman Bhatt Veeri, Chander Prakash, Javed Mustafa Mir, Abdul Haq Khan and Bali Bhagat also take oath as ministers in PDP-BJP government of Jammu and Kashmir.

11:35 am: BJP's Lal Singh takes oath in Dogri language as minister in Jammu and Kashmir government.

08:30 am: PM Narendra Modi, senior BJP leader LK Advani, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Human Resource Minister Smriti Irani, BJP President Amit Shah, BJP sokesperson Shah Nawaz Hussain, BJP's general secretary Ram Madhav, Union Minister Jitendra Singh will be present. Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah is also expected to attend the event.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley might skip the event.

08:12 am: BJP's Nirmal Singh is likely to be the Deputy Chief Minister.

08:10 am: The strength of the alliance government, which has been termed as a meeting of "North Pole and South Pole" by 79-year-old Sayeed, is expected to be 25 with 12 PDP MLAs set to take oath along with the Chief Minister and 11 drawn from BJP whose 11 MLAs, including Nirmal Singh tipped to be Deputy Chief Minister.

08:00 am: Meanwhile, separatist-turned-politician Sajjad Gani Lone, has rushed to Jammu to join the PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir as a cabinet minister, a source said.

07:55 am: Among the prominent faces who are likely to be part of the alliance government include Haseeb Drabu, Abdul Rehman Veeri and Naeem Akhtar (PDP) and Kavinder Gupta and Bali Bhagat.

07:45 am: After the swearing-in, all eyes will be on release of the Common Minimum Programme by the two parties jointly and the point of interest will be how the two parties have dealt with controversial issues like Article 370, which gives special status to the state, and AFSPA.
