40-year-old woman gangraped in moving car in Meerut

Police have filed a case based on the victim's complaint but no arrests have been made so far.

A 40-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by two youth in a moving car in Meerut on Friday, police said.

The incident took place on Friday afternoon when the woman had come to the city to buy some medicines, police added.

The two youth have been identified as Sanjeev and Manoj. According to the police, the youth offered the woman a ride home at Begumpul and gave her soft drink laced with sedatives after which the victim became unconscious following which the duo raped her.

The men, hailing from Ghat village, later dumped her near the Jaani canal and fled, police said.

The woman, from Mawana police station area, was admitted to a hospital after a patrolling police team found her found lying unconscious.
