The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday was little changed and closed at 11,210.27 points.

The blue-chip index added only 4.53 points, or 0.04 percent. The DAX index remains on high levels but the momemtum of growth has slowed down, according to analysts.

Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. rose significantly by 5.24 percent. The utilities company E.ON SE added 2.52 percent. Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA, a health care group, advanced by 2.4 percent. The utilities company RWE AG St climbed by 1.85 percent and Merck KGaA, a chemical and pharmaceutical company, went up by 1.18 percent.

Continental AG dropped the most by 2.54 percent. Commerzbank AG lost 2.42 percent. Deutsche Lufthansa AG slipped by 1.56 percent. Volkswagen AG Vz slid by 1.37 percent and Deutsche Bank AG went down by 1.21 percent.

The turnover stood at 3.38 billion euros (around 3.85 billion U.S. dollars). Daimler AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 285.22 million euros. (1 euro = 1.14 U.S. dollars) Endit
