A jury has found an Orillia couple guilty of failing to provide the necessities of life to a 76-year-old woman.

Dianna Davy and her husband James Davy were charged in the case of Dianna’s mother Viola Simonds.

When paramedics found Simonds in May of 2011, she was nearly naked and covered in vomit, urine and feces.

The Davys did not comment as they left the courtroom today after the guilty verdict was announced.

However, other relatives of Viola Simonds who were on hand offered their thoughts.

Simond’s nephew Brad McConnell held back tears as he said, “Today’s verdict was fantastic.”

“They put her through hell. They did.”

The Davy’s are expected to be sentenced sometime before the end of the year.
