WATCH: A fatal crash shutdown a large section of the Don Valley parkway for much of the Monday morning rush.
TORONTO – The northbound lanes of the Don Valley Parkway from Bayview/Bloor to Don Mills Road were closed for several hours Monday morning following a fatal collision.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. when a vehicle collided with a barrier and ended up in a ditch just south of Millwood.
A male driver in his 20s was rushed to hospital without vital signs and was later pronounced dead.
Police had initially closed the northbound lanes of the DVP from the Gardiner Expressway around 5 a.m.
The northbound lanes were later reopened just after 8 a.m. with the right shoulder closed for guard rail repairs.
