Police investigating the suspicious death of a two-year-old girl in Fife have detained a man for questioning.
Emergency services were called to a property in Kelty at 6.30pm on Sunday after a “report of concern” for the child, named locally as Madison Horne.
The child was immediately taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, where she was later pronounced dead.
Police Scotland said: “Inquiries are at an early stage but police are treating her death as suspicious.”
A team of police officers remained at the property yesterday afternoon examining the scene. It is understood that Madison lived in the flat with her mother, Anne-Marie White, 21.
