Second Bank Robbed in Crystal Lake

Fifth-Third Bank is the second bank in the last 10 days that has been robbed in Crystal Lake.

Just before 4:30 p.m. March 30, the Fifth Third Bank in the 200 block of Route 14 in Crystal Lake was robbed, Crystal Lake Police are reporting. This is the second bank robbery in the village within ten days. On March 21, a woman robbed the Chase Bank at 1185 South Route 31.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the March 21 incident.

The Fifth-Third Bank robbery on Monday resulted in the loss of a yet undeterminded amount of cash.

Police are looking for a white male, approximately 37 years of age, with brown hair and facial stubble, wearing a dark grey baseball style cap, with sunglasses on the visor, a red pullover hooded sweatshirt with a white logo on the front and white stripe on the shoulder, blue denim pants, white and blue Nike athletic shoes.

This March 30 robbery remains under investigation by the Crystal Lake Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
