Jeffrey Logan Joins Bravo Group

Bravo Group, Pennsylvania’s largest independent public relations and advocacy firm, announced today that Jeffrey M. Logan has joined the firm’s growing Energy Practice, and will serve as Environmental and Regulatory Practice Lead. Since 2010, Logan had served as Executive Deputy Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

“In Pennsylvania, Jeff brings an unmatched blend of expertise, knowledge, relationships and understanding of how progress can be made in navigating environmental issues for industries and causes,” said Chris Bravacos, CEO of Bravo Group. “He has earned a reputation for integrity and creative solutions. We are proud he chose to continue his career at Bravo Group.”

With a presence in Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Dallas, Bravo Group works with a broad range of clients in the energy sector, including Sunoco, Sunoco Logistics, Southwestern Energy (SWN), Cabot Oil & Gas, Philadelphia Energy Solutions, Dow Chemical and the Pennsylvania Steel Alliance. The firm also manages the Pennsylvania Chemical Industry Council (PCIC), which is an advocacy organization acting on behalf of the state’s chemical industry.

In his position at the DEP, Logan oversaw the agency’s business management and finance functions and helped create and execute strategies to improve operations and staff performance. Under his guidance, the DEP achieved dramatic improvements in environmental permitting measures including review time, throughput and predictability. Logan also facilitated multi-state regulatory relationships to address common natural gas compliance and policy issues, and monitored natural gas industry trends to ensure the success of the DEP’s regulatory programs. He worked closely with the DEP’s Oil & Gas program to create the current well permit fee structure and operating model.

“As we expand Bravo’s footprint, we are energized by the addition of Jeff’s expertise on energy policy, regulatory and community issues and the impacts these policies will have on the environment,” said Dennis Walsh, president of government relations for Bravo Group. “As opportunities expand throughout Pennsylvania in natural gas and movement of product to market, Jeff will be integral in helping our clients navigate the critical nexus between economic development and environmental protection.”

Prior to his position at the DEP, Logan served as Director of Business Development and Government Relations within Harris Corporation’s Wireless Business Unit, where his direction of state government sales and lobbying efforts led to large project contract awards and record sales, especially among state-level public safety and executive branch offices on a nationwide level.

Logan first entered public service in 1995, when he became Director of the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of Administration and was responsible for managing its finance and procurement functions. He subsequently served as Deputy Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of State, where he provided major advisory and consultative professional work in planning, coordinating and managing program operations. He also served as Deputy Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, where he streamlined operations, upgraded technology, increased efficiency, and cut costs.

An established professional within Pennsylvania’s environmental regulatory community, Logan has spoken publicly on the issue; recent speeches include: “Opportunities for Shale Gas,” at a conference of the American Gas Association in Austin, Texas; “Shale Gas Development, a Regulatory Perspective,” at the Philadelphia Conference of Sustainable Property Transactions in Philadelphia; and “The Regulatory Landscape,” at the Deloitte 2014 Oil & Gas Conference in Houston, Texas.

Logan serves as Board Chair to the Great Lakes Protection Fund, a private, nonprofit corporation formed in 1989 by the Governors of the Great Lakes states, which serves as a permanent environmental endowment of over $120 million supporting collaborative actions to improve the health of the Great Lakes ecosystem. He recently was honored as a finalist at the 2014 Central Pennsylvania Financial Executive of the Year Awards.
