ansarada Hosts Women in M&A with Alex Guarnaschelli

ansarada hosts its first annual women in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) dinner in New York City’s Butter restaurant with its executive chef Alex Guarnaschelli.

Nine senior and eight junior M&A bankers including those from Allen & Co, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Evercore, JP Morgan, Moelis and UBS will share insights and anecdotes while enjoying Ms Guarnaschelli’s food as well as cocktails and wine on Butter’s terrace.

“ansarada is passionate about supporting women working in M&A, both those in senior roles and those who are up and coming,” says ansarada chief executive Sam Riley. “The lack of women CEOs in finance and across business must change in the twenty first century.”

This month, a study by Catalyst of women CEOs of the S&P 500 found that just 4.6 percent of such CEO positions were filled by women. Just one bank, KeyCorp, had a female CEO, Beth Mooney, according to the Catalyst study.

Last year in Sydney, Australia, ansarada hosted a group of senior and junior women M&A dealmakers at a champagne dinner with Louis Vuitton.

“I’ve had the good fortune to meet many outstanding women during my career,” says Mr Riley. “Women make up half of ansarada’s senior management and we understand the additional pressures women face during their career. The dinner for M&A women in New York is a way for us to show appreciation of who they are and what they do.”

Founded in 2005, Sydney-based ansarada has offices in Chicago and London, employing about 80 people worldwide.
Mr Riley cofounded ansarada with Andrew Slavin, its chief technology officer, Rachel Riley, chief financial officer and Daphne Chang.
