Solutions provider to double revenue, hires 100 new staff

National solutions provider Empired has predicted that its revenue would double for the current financial year, and announced the addition of 100 new staff.

On the back of $60 million worth of new work in the second half-year with customers like Rio Tinto, Toyota and InterOil, the ASX-listed company revised its 2015 revenue forecast to a range of $120 to $130 million.

"These contracts are all annuity based managed services contracts that provide an exceptional platform for further growth into FY16," said Empired managing director Russell Baskerville.

Empired raked in $67 million of revenue for the 2014 financial year – the 44 percent improvement good enough for 20th place in the 2014 CRN Fast50. Revenue will be up 94 percent this year if it meets the upper end of its forecast.

"To service the strong organic growth, Empired has hired approximately 100 new staff," the company announced to the ASX today.

The addition of the new employees plus the acquisition of Intergen in October has meant Empired has gone from a 430-staff firm at the start of the financial year to now having a 900-strong workforce.

While noting the overheads associated with new staff, the company stated that the extra hands provide "a high degree of confidence in our strategy and delivering into the FY16 year".

The Perth-headquartered solutions provider also upgraded its 2016 forecast, predicting a range of $155 to $175 million.

Empired has been in the headlines regularly in recent weeks, with high profile wins such as a $20 million deal with Rio Tinto, Microsoft work for Toyota Australia, a $15 million contract with InterOil, and a $10 million agreement with an unnamed Perth resources client.

"We are focused on continuing to build our pipeline of major strategic contracts and are again expecting a high level of new contract success into the FY16 year," Baskerville said.

The firm also launched a new logo this month while stating that the Intergen, OBS and eSavvy brands inherited from past acquisitions would be phased out – all in preparation for an assault on the east coast.

"Our acquisitions, now consolidated under the Empired brand in Australia and integrated into our mature structures, systems and processes are demonstrating very pleasing performance," said Baskerville. "We are encouraged by the high level of staff engagement across Australia and New Zealand."
