Mallinckrodt Plc (MNK) Is Rising After Joining S&P 500 Index

Mallinckrodt plc (MNK) announced Thursday that its acquisition of Questor Pharmaceuticals (QCOR) was approved at its shareholder meeting. It was also announced after the bell Thursday that Mallinckrodt will replace Rowan Companies plc (RDC) in the S&P 500 index after the close of trading on Monday, August 18.

Mallinckrodt gapped up Friday and has risen sharply in early trade. The stock is now up 4.03 at $74.91 and has broken out to over a 2-week high.
