Germany stocks mixed at close of trade

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Financial Services and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer & Cyclical, Media and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.42%, while the MDAX index added 0.10%, and the TecDAX index added 0.78%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (XETRA:CBKG), which rose 2.09% or 0.230 points to trade at 11.210 at the close. Meanwhile, Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG) added 1.48% or 0.205 points to end at 14.035 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (XETRA:DBKGn) was up 1.08% or 0.270 points to 25.255 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (XETRA:CONG), which fell 2.16% or 3.800 points to trade at 171.750 at the close. Adidas AG NA O.N. (XETRA:ADSGN) declined 2.08% or 1.200 points to end at 56.420 and Bay.Motoren Werke AG ST (XETRA:BMWG) was down 1.96% or 1.760 points to 88.010.

The top performers on the MDAX were Kuka AG (XETRA:KU2G) which rose 3.03% to 60.770, Fraport AG (XETRA:FRAG) which was up 2.62% to settle at 49.300 and Aareal Bank AG (XETRA:ARLG) which gained 2.12% to close at 33.995.
The worst performers were Norma Group AG NA O.N. (XETRA:NOEJ) which was down 1.92% to 38.880 in late trade, RTL Group SA (XETRA:RRTL) which lost 1.91% to settle at 77.610 and Elringklinger AG NA O.N. (XETRA:ZILGn) which was down 1.89% to 28.250 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) which rose 5.35% to 30.895, Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which was up 4.27% to settle at 87.180 and Nordex SE O.N. (XETRA:NDXG) which gained 3.97% to close at 15.600.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:SATG_p) which was down 1.23% to 100.000 in late trade, Wirecard AG (XETRA:WDIG) which lost 1.22% to settle at 36.010 and Stratec Biomedical (XETRA:SBSG) which was down 1.15% to 45.220 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 384 to 326 and 30 ended unchanged.

Shares in Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) rose to 52 week highs; rising 5.35% or 1.570 to 30.895.
Shares in Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) rose to 52 week highs; rising 4.27% or 3.570 to 87.180.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 19.48.

Gold for February delivery was up 0.46% or 5.50 to $1189.60 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.81% or 0.43 to hit $53.70 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.20 to trade at $57.12 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.78% to 1.2011, while EUR/GBP rose 0.73% to 0.7822.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.73% at 91.31.
