The Division Street Pizza Hut near the Crossroads Center closed on Tuesday after being open for more than 40 years.

MUY Pizzas director of operations Doug Prickett said the delivery and carryout portion of the business will be transferred to a new location in Waite Park's Sundial Village. Crossroads, which is operated by General Growth Properties, owns the 4185 Division Street building.

"We are also expanding into more fried chicken and will offer the whole WingStreet line at the Sundial location," Prickett said. "There will be three different types of chicken and eight different flavors to go along with the carryout and delivery services."

Prickett said construction on a downtown St. Cloud Pizza Hut sports bar as part of the Fifth Avenue Live! project is planned to start "within the next 60 days." Texas-based MUY Pizzas, the sixth-largest franchise restaurant company in the United States, purchased 54 Minnesota Pizza Hut restaurants a year ago.

General Growth Properties general manager Darcy Eigen said they've explored options with future potential tenants at the Division Street location but couldn't comment on which business may occupy the space because nothing has been finalized yet and MUY Pizzas still currently owns the location's lease.

Prickett said MUY Pizzas previously explored plans to rebuild the Division Street location. The sports bar-style Pizza Huts have been tested out by MUY Pizzas in Texas.
