Inphi Corporation recently announced that its Tri-Rate PHY/SerDes Gearbox ICs have cleared interoperability testing with PMC's, DIGI 120G and META 120G. The reference solution displays the interfacing between DIGI 120G and META 120G with a 100G CFP2 optical transceiver module with the IN112510 PHY/SerDes Gearbox IC from Inphi. Inphi's IN112510 Gearbox incorporates the iPHY architecture which supports client side networking interfaces that optimize on power and performance, while supporting integration, latency, and cost reductions. It can support 10G, 40G and 100G optical line cards for service provider, and carrier OTN networks and consumers a low latency of 2.3-W.

PMC's DIGI 120G (PM5440) is a single-chip OTN processor capable of supporting speeds of  10G, 40G and 100G for OTN transport, aggregation, and switched applications. DIGI 120G optimizes network resources which enable OTN networks to quickly virtualize optical network bandwidth to address varying big data traffic demands. OTN muxponders and OTN switching cards that leverage DIGI 120G will optimize aggregation and enhancement of lower speed services into 100G.

PMC's META 120G (PM5442), offers Carrier Ethernet MAC/PHY, robust OTN framing/mapping along with multiple FEC protocols in addition to PMC's Swizzle enhanced FEC and fully integrated packet timing engine featuring clock recovery in excess of IEEE (News - Alert) 1588v2 telecom profile for every port.
