Fong's Pizza is opening its second location in Ankeny Tuesday just in time for lunch.The restaurant is located in the Prairie Trail development at 1450 Southwest Vintage, next to Jethro's."It has been an amazing experience to have a new build-out. We have a beautiful restaurant and bar, along with a Fongtastic kitchen which has allowed for more creativity on our menu," said Gwen Page, co-owner of Fong's. "Our new menu features tiki drinks made with fresh squeezed juices, breakfast pizza on weekends, extensive beer selections, sandwiches like the Kung Pao Chicken, and salads with house-made dressings."Other menu additions include Chinese empanadas, handmade onion rings and wings that feature a variety of Chinese-inspired sauces.The original Fong's that opened in 2009, known for its unique pizza options, is located at 223 4th St. just north of Court Avenue in downtown Des Moines.The Prairie Trail development is located along State Street in Ankeny and is billed as a new town center for the rapidly growing city. A new census to be completed this year is expected to show the city has grown to 53,000 people.
