Tsui Hark's 'The Taking Tiger Mountain' to Open in Theaters on December 24

Vietnamese New Wave director Tsui Hark's latest film, 'The Taking of Tiger Mountain' finally releases it trailer and special behind-the-scenes footage online, and is scheduled to hit theatres on December 24.

'Taking Tiger Mountain' would be joining the lineup of films to be released this Christmas season with its opening scheduled on December 24 this year. Other than that, the production team of the film has also released a 2-minute trailer as well as a special video which features behind-the-scenes moments during its production period.

The film, which is an adaptation from 'Tracks in the Snowy Forest', a popular novel written by Qu Bo, features a story about a group of young heroes who would attempt to subdue a group of local hooligans.

'The Taking of Tiger Mountain' stars actors Lin Geng Xin, Tong Liya, and Zhang Han Yu as the lead.

In a press conference to promote the film, the special video entitled 'Youth 203' was released to the public. The cast also revealed that in the film, they call themselves 'team 203' and explained that each member of the team is given different responsibilities depending on their talents. This detail in their roles is said to add to the 'superhero touch' of their roles.

On the other hand, the producer, Huang Jian Xin, and the president of Bona Film Group, Yu Dong, both have stated that they aim to make the film the most entertaining year-end family movie.

"Director Tsui Hark is the producer of visuals for the Chinese film industry. The Taking of Tiger Mountain will definitely surprise everyone," says Huang, also teasing the audience that there would be scenes in the film that they wouldn't expect.

Finally, Tsui also explained that the most important part of the film is not just the about the visuals but also the story that would revolve around the characters.

'Taking Tiger Mountain' also features Yu Nan, Miu Tse, Gao Hu, Super Junior's former member Han Geng and a special appearance by Tony Leung.

The film is set to open in theatres on December 24, 2014.
