CHS announces students and athletes of the month

Collinsville High School today announced its first batch of student of the month honorees.

Earning recognition for Senior of the Month for August was Kelsie Jeffries, who was elected treasurer of the State of Illinois Student Council.

Ebby Ross was the senior class honoree for September. Ross was chosen to be a “First Scholar” at the TBSE Dental Conference. She is also very active in Science Club and the Math Team.

Brian Munoz was one of two students chosen as the August Student of the Month. Munoz was elected newsletter editor for the Kaskaskia District of Student Councils. He participates in the Model United Nations, band and is a thespian.

The newly elected secretary of the Kaskaskia District of Student Councils, Paige Giacoletto, shared August Student of the Month honors. Giacoletto also participates in the Multicultural Kahoks, KAHOKstrong and softball. She helps special needs children during study hall.

Audrey Pieper, who helps students in class that have special needs, tutors after school every day, carries the highest grade in US history and is a scorekeeper for volleyball is the Collinsville High School September Student of the Month.

Sidney Bost finished in 2nd place at the Madison County girls golf tournament and finished in 7th and 8th place in other tournaments to get the nod as the CHS Athlete of the Month for August.

Football Kahok quarterback Jordan Reichert, the team’s leading rusher and passer, was named the September Athlete of the Month. Reichert rumbled and sprinted for 138 yards against Belleville East on Sept. 13 to earn the Metro Independent’s Athlete of the Week award.
