Daredevil star Charlie Cox would like the The Punisher and Elektra in Season 2

If you haven’t indulged yourself in Netflix’s new superhero series Daredevil you are missing out. Probably the best super TV show is looking to have a few cameos in store for Season 2. It has some of the best fight sequences on television, and unlike other super hero television shows, thus far it doesn’t have those lulls that leave a lot to desire.

The show has a trajectory that Marvel has already announced will result in a mini-series on Netflix for the Marvel super group “The Defenders.” The setup now will be to introduce the members in a way that doesn’t make the miniseries seem completely out of the blue.

The star of the series, Charlie Cox (playing Matt Murdock aka Daredevil) recently did a post-renewal interview with empire. In that interview he gave a surprising amount of details/guesses into what he would want second season to feature.

"“I have to be careful because we just got commissioned so I have no idea who is going to turn up. Based on the show we’ve created, which is very grounded in reality, I’d like to see Punisher maybe show up, a little bit of Elektra maybe. I wouldn’t mind Black Widow making an appearance, and you can’t think about Daredevil for too long without thinking of Bullseye. We’ll begin shooting in the second half of the year. It’ll be the same timeline as the last show, so season two will come out about this time next year. Again, I’m imagining all this, but they’ll probably do Iron Fist or Luke Cage at the same time, followed by the other one [of the two] in the first half of 2016 and then maybe Defenders in the second half of 2016 or the beginning of 2017.”"

A Punisher appearance would be amazing, and even more amazing would be a Punisher show done under the same team. His dark persona would do well, especially with the way the Daredevil series was stylized.

This is not completely set, but more of just whims and wishes of Charlie Cox. But, with how fluid this whole process has been of moving release dates, and all the options on the board for where to go, it doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility.

Sorry other superhero shows that I’m not naming, but again, good job Daredevil for being very forward about your storyline. I’m personally excited to see the Luke Cage storyline play out, which is already slated to be a large part of of the 2nd season, being involved in 6-7 episodes.

According to reports and the comments above, Luke Cage will be receiving his own miniseries on Netflix. Traditionally The Defenders included the Hulk and Dr. Strange as well, so we will see how that pans out.
