EBay Inc. (EBAY) Is Up Sharply On Better Than Expected Q4 Earnings

eBay Inc. (EBAY) reported fourth quarter adjusted EPS of $0.90 after the bell Wednesday, which topped the consensus estimate of $0.89. The company expects to report first quarter non-GAAP EPS of $0.68 to $0.71 and between $3.05 to $3.15. Analysts are expecting EPS of $0.76 and $3.26.

The company announced that it plans to reduce its workforce by approximately 2,400 positions globally. eBay also announced it has entered into a standstill agreement with its largest active shareholder investor, Carl Icahn.

eBay gapped open sharply higher Thursday morning and is now up 1.82 at $55.20. The stock has risen to a 1-week high and has re-crossed its 50-day moving average.
