Video game developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts announce that they are launching a new version of their shooter Titanfall, called the Deluxe Edition, which is designed to give gamers access to all the downloadable content that was launched for the title so far and all the updates that were delivered for it.

At the moment, the experience is offered via the Origin digital distribution service on the PC, and gamers will also get access to it during next week on the Xbox One home console from Microsoft.

The two companies have not said so far whether they plan to launch the Deluxe Edition of Titanfall on the Xbox 360 at any point in the future.

Getting the new version of the first-person shooter allows gamers to gain access to the Expedition, Frontier’s Edge and IMC Rising DLCs, which bring with them nine new maps that are designed to offer more variety when it comes to combat in the roles of both Pilot and Titan.

The official announcement states, "Respawn have added a wealth of post-release content including the introduction of new game modes including co-op play, titan customisation, the Black Market, ranked play and more. All this great content combined in one package means there has never been a better time to feel the rush of Titanfall and the thrill of dropping your first titan on the battlefield."

A Titanfall sequel might already be in development

Titanfall was a solid success for Electronic Arts since it was launched, and Respawn Entertainment has said that it wants to continue to develop the new intellectual property in interesting ways.

A rumor has suggested that most of the company is already working on a new title in the series, which might be delivered as soon as the fall of next year on the PC, the Xbox One, but also on the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

The launch of the Deluxe Edition of the first game means that it's unlikely that more DLC will be delivered in 2015.

At the same time, Respawn has shown that it cares about its player community and that means that patches might still be offered in order to make sure that no imbalances sneak into the title.

It will be interesting to see whether the studio will introduce any kind of new game modes before the end of the year.
