HYDERABAD: Global skin health company PhotoMedex along with Medium Healthcare Consulting announced that it has set up five clinics providing Vtrac therapy in the city. The Vtrac therapy is primarily used in the treatment of skin diseases such as vitiligo and psoriasis.
Commenting on the development, PhotoMedex chief executive officer Dolev Rafaeli said, “Millions face the daily burden of living with vitiligo or psoriasis.
We believe our certified Vtrac clinics hold the potential to transform vitiligo and psoriasis patient care. There is a growing demand for effective and long lasting treatment for both vitiligo and psoriasis in the Indian market that holds exceptional promise for Vtrac clinics and direct-to-consumer activity.”
According to market studies, an estimated of 4.4 to 6.5% of the Indian population have vitiligo or psoriasis. “Although there is no cure, those with Vitiligo can be treated successfully with Vtrac and the treatment offers up to 95% re-pigmentation,” the company said in a release.
