Obituary: Nana Akua Sarkodie-Mensah, 25, Malden High School Grad

Sarkodie-Mensah, who died on March 24, was sister to WWE star Kofi Kingston.

Nana Akua “Kiya” Sarkodie-Mensah, 25, died on March 24 in Boston, according to a source based in Ghana.

Sarkodie-Mensah graduated Malden High School in 2008, and was the sister of World Wrestling Entertainment great Kofi Sarkodie-Mensah, who wrestles under the alias “Kofi Kingston.”

According to GhanaWeb, Nana Akua Sarkodie-Mensah was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree from UMass Boston in May of 2014, and she had previously studied at UMass Dartmouth and the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Her next academic goal was to earn an MBA in Hospitality Management at Johnson & Wales University in Providence.

Her obituary notes her great love of dogs and painting, as well as drive toward social activism - having led drives to help the urban homeless and make school textbooks more affordable.

She is survived by mother Dr. Afua Sarkodie-Mensah and father Kwasi Sarkodie-Mensah, of Boston, brothers Kofi and Kwame Sarkodie-Mensah, as well as, in all likelihood, many others not listed by the original source.
