Calgary Muslim groups speak out against recent attacks in Canada

They want answers, they want an end to the radicalization of Canadian youth and they’re offering condolences to the families of two soldiers killed in Ottawa and in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec.
Calgary Muslim groups are speaking out against the attacks orchestrated by two recent converts.
In a written statement, the Hussaini Association, on behalf of Shia Muslims in Calgary, says its members strongly condemn the “detestable killings” that have taken place.
“We would like to share the grief of sorrow and extend our condolences to the families of these two soldiers,” it reads. “Like always, we as a community share the concerns of every Canadian about the violent radicalization of some Canadian youth by the ISIS terrorists. We always stand against the terrorism of any kind around the world or inside our country.”
They’re asking police to be vigilant in finding those responsible for misleading Canadian Youth adding: “Islam is not violent but a peaceful religion.”
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at has also weighed in, writing a statement that says, they “categorically and unequivocally condemn terror attacks on Parliament Hill.”
Ahmadi Muslims will be holding a prayer service at the Baitun Nur Mosque in honour of the victims at 1:45pm.
The Coalition of Muslim Organizations in Calgary will address the media Friday morning to talk about the attacks on the War Memorial and Canadian Parliament in Ottawa.
Representatives of Muslim Council of Calgary, Hussaini Association of Calgary, Islamic Information Society of Calgary, Pakistan Canada Association, Islamic Association of NW Calgary, Islamic Association of South Calgary and other leaders will join the Calgary Interfaith Council in support.
