American Heroes uncover Evil

Discovery Communications-owned American Heroes Channel is coproducing a docudrama about the dark sides of world leaders and dictators from London-based factual indie World Media Rights (WMR).

Evolution of Evil (10×50’) will combine dramatic reconstructions with archive material to explore how 10 men turned into some of the most notorious world leaders.

North Korea’s Kim dynasty, Saddam Hussein, Papa Doc Duvalier, Mussolini and Japan’s infamous General Hideki Toji will all be studied in the show, which is being sold internationally by ZDF Enterprises outside the US and UK.

The series is the latest WMR production to appear on the American Heroes Channel following Black Ops, Secrets of the Bible and Myth Hunters, while last month it ordered a show about the Pearl Harbour attacks.

WMR creative director Matthew Barrett exec produces along with American Heroes Channel’s Ron Simon.
