A total of $12,230 of Ecolab grant funding was awarded to and distributed among eight Joliet Township High School staff members this summer. Dawn Krantz, Peter Lipari, Valerie O’Toole, Karen Paul, Marie Ryan, Janice Sheehan, Israel Velazquez, and Nyssa Wilhelmsen were honored at an Ecolab reception that recognized recipients for their dedication to education and the enlightenment that they give their students to grow and learn in various ways.

The Ecolab grants are a part of the Joliet Ecolab Visions for Learning Program. The goal of Ecolab’s grant program for school educators is to encourage and reward individual teacher’s creativity and innovation in classroom learning. Potential grant recipients submitted a detailed 2-page application form that contained a description of how grant funding would be used to purchase materials for the purpose of increasing student understanding of academic content.

JTHS staff members will use their grant funding to increase student learning in innovative ways.
