Japan retail sales for September.

(830 a.m. ET) U.S. durable goods for September. Consensus is for a 0.4 per cent rise, or a rise of 0.5 per cent excluding the transportation sector.

(9 a.m. ET) U.S. S&P Case-Shiller Home Price Index for August. Consensus is for a 0.1 per cent rise from July, or 5.6 per cent from a year ago. In July, prices rose 6.7 per cent from a year earlier.

(10 a.m. ET) U.S Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index. It's forecast to rise to 87.0 from 86.0.

(10 a.m. ET) U.S. Richmond Fed Manufacturing Index. It's expected to remain unchanged at 14.

FOMC begins its two-day monetary policy meeting.

Japan releases consumer price index, jobless rate and household spending. The Bank of Japan also issues its semi-annual outlook report.

Euro area releases consumer price index for October, forecast to rise 0.4 per cent from a year ago, with core CPI expected to rise 0.8 per cent. It also reveals its jobless numbers. Germany releases retail sales, and France consumer spending.

(830 a.m. ET) Canada real GDP for August. Consensus is for an unchanged reading.

(830 a.m. ET) U.S. personal income and spending, forecast to rise 0.3 per cent and 0.1 per cent, respectively.

(955 a.m. ET) University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment index. It's forecast at 86.4.

Ottawa releases Canada's budget deficit.
