O'Reilly Automotive Inc. (ORLY) reported third quarter EPS of $2.06 after the close Wednesday, up from $1.69 last year. Analysts expected EPS of $1.95. Fourth quarter EPS is expected to be between $1.60 and $1.64, compared to the consensus estimate of $1.67. The company also increased its full year EPS forecast to between $7.19 and $7.23, from prior expectations of $7.00 to $7.10. Analysts are expecting EPS of $7.15.
O'Reilly Automotive gapped open sharply higher Thursday and climbed during the first hour of trade, before settling into a range. Shares finished with a gain of 10.08 at $167.44 on the highest volume in over 8 months. The stock soared to a new high for the year.
