The Hartford Financial Services Group is eliminating about 190 positions at its Woodbury offices, a company spokesman said Wednesday.

The affected employees work in the company’s mutual funds business, which will no longer operate out of Woodbury. Most will be laid off, but some will be moved to the Hartford’s offices in Radnor, Pa., where its mutual funds business is headquartered.

“Our other business functions will continue to maintain a presence in Woodbury,” spokesman Thomas Hambrick said.

The layoffs began during the fourth quarter of 2014 and will be completed by the end of May. The Hartford filed a notice with Minnesota’s Dislocated Worker Program in December, saying it planned to lay off about 200 employees.

The Hartford sold Oakdale-based Woodbury Financial Services to insurer American International Group in 2012.
