Riverview Bancorp., the Vancouver, Wash.-based parent of Riverview Community Bank, on Friday reported net income of $579,000, or 3 cents a share, for its third quarter ended Dec. 31, compared to a net loss of $1.3 million, or 12 cents a share, in the same period a year ago.

Non-performing loans fell to $16.9 million at Dec. 31, compared to $35.3 million at Sept. 30, and were at their lowest level since March 31, 2008, according to the bank. It has 17 branches in the Portland-Vancouver area and $838.4 million in assets.

The bank’s stock closed at $2.99, up 14 cents.
