CarMax sells cars with unfixed recalls: investigation
Consumers who purchased a car from CarMax may have a vehicle with a recall. Consumer groups investigated the used car company to see how many cars were sold with recalls.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Consumers who purchased a car from CarMax may have a vehicle with a recall.

California Public Interest Research Group (CALPIRG) and Consumers for Auto Reliability and Safety conducted an investigation and found that almost 10 percent of the cars on a Sacramento CarMax lot and one in Oxnard had recalls. Some of those recalls were for serious safety issues.

The used car company said it is not authorized for recall repairs, but that consumers are given a thorough report with the vehicle history that shows any open recalls.
